A few months back, I gave you guys a tour of my DIY Cloffice. Since then, I have made a few updates that I think you are going to like. If you want to check out my first Cloffice Tour post (click here). There you can see what I purchased to get my cloffice to be more functional (racks, bookcases, shelves). This post is strictly to give you a peak of the things I have added or updated.
Add A Ladder
One simple item that was added is a ladder. I know, a ladder does not require much thought, and it’s not glamorous, but I needed a way to be able to reach the items that are too high to reach. I am only 5’5 without heels so I need a little assistance when reaching my handbags and things that I have stored high up. I wanted the ladder to be a little girly, so I got it in pink. I have been eyeing this acrylic ladder (here), but I have not been able to justify spending over $100 for something I will be stepping on
Rearranged some things
I did not like the flow of my bookshelves, dresser, and cube so I switched them around. I put my handbag cube in the middle of the cloffice so that it is the focal point when people walk in. I moved my formal shoes to the furthest corner of the room because I know I do not wear them as much. I placed my “seasonal show shelf” closer to the door because they are the ones that I wear more often, and I switch them out each season. Lastly, the clothing rack I placed closer to widow because it has better lighting and a mirror right next to it for my try-on hauls.
I have been wanting to add wallpaper for a very long time. I did not think I could do it myself but with the help of YouTube, and peel and stick wallpaper, it was super easy and did not take me a long time at all. I also added a neon sign. I first saw this personalized sign Instagram; from a blogger I follow and fell in love with. I was torn between getting it in pink or white. I decided to with white because in the event I decide to completely change my cloffice color scheme, the white light will always be a match.
I utilized the many years of merchandising experience and decided to remerchandise some things. I made a section for all the designer shoes and handbags and sorted them by brand. My sneakers were already together but I went a step further attempting to sort them by style and/or color. All my formal shoes are together, and I also have an animal print shoe section, but I love animal print so much.
Added more storage & color coded
Originally, I had my extra handbags thrown to the top of the shelf. I decided to store them in storage bins so that it would look aesthetically pleasing. Previously, my clothing was sorted by like item (ex. jackets, tops, pants). I decided to go a step further and color code them the sort by style. No idea why I did not do this long ago.
As the season change and my style evolved, I am sure this will not be the last cloffice update. God willing, I plan to get a has with double the closet space to have twice as much fun filling it up!
