New Years Eve is less than 2 weeks away and lets face it, many of us will not be bring it in with that special someone for a number of reasons. There’s no need to sit at home and waste the day away, instead find a girlfriend or two and do something fun. If you are out of ideas on what to do to get through the day I have a cool list to get you going! (Church is always a great idea and the perfect way to bring in the new year!)
HAVE A SPA DAY
Self care is very important to me no matter the occasion. I think it always good to unwind and relax, freeing your mind of everything if only for a few hours. A spa day with your girlfriend is even better. Not only are you getting pampered but you also get to catch up on your girl talk. I recommend getting a couples massage. Of course you are not a couple but most spas offer discounts for 2 so why not reap the benefits. If massages are not your thing, a facial or mani pedi will definitely leave you feeling great.
TREAT YOURSELF TO DINNER
I am a foodie so this one is my favorite. I enjoy exploring new restaurants and trying things I have never eaten before. Yelp is my best friend when seeking out new restaurants. No only are you allowed to read the reviews but you can also see pictures from guest to determine if the food is pleasing to the eyes. If you want to try an upscale restaurant but don’t want to break the bank, try locations that have a good brunch or reverse Happy Hour. This will allow you to try things on the menu for a fraction of the cost.
WATCH YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES
Holiday movies are my favorite and depending on what streaming service you have, they only come around once a year. Why not take advantage of that and binge watch some of your favorites. If holiday movies aren’t your thing, try romantic comedies or even action packed film. There isn’t a right or wrong movie to watch but my suggestion is to stay away from anything sad or depressing. After all, you are headed into a new year, that’s nothing to be sad about.
TAKE A ROAD TRIP
Gas up the car and hit the road with your gal pal. You don’t have to go far to have fun. My friend and I are planning a girls trip to Austin, TX which is allow two short hours away for Houston. If you are unsure where you would like the road to take you, google fun cities near you or ask friends and family for recommendations. I love visiting other cities that I can drive to. It is very cost effective and takes you no time to get there
