Here in Texas, it is safe to say we know a little about western wear. On any given day, you will see someone with cowboy boots, fitted jeans and bold plaid print. Designers have had a love hate relationship with western wear for some time. I believe this year, the trend had gained momentum and you can find New Yorkers trading in there chic classic looks for fringe jackets and belt buckles. I have to admit, other than The Houston Rodeo event that is a month long celebration in Houston, I never really wore much western wear. That is quickly changing. I have grown to enjoy the western trend as of recent. I have purchased at least two pair of cowboy boots and counting.
A simple and easy way to jump on the western wear bandwagon is the ever so popular denim on denim look. Pair it with nice boots and you will be well on your way to looking western chic. Another fashion suggestion is to grab a western print puncho. Wear it with a pair of legging and riding boots or a simple pair of jeans. If you don’t want to commit 100% to the trend, simply pick a piece to wear with traditional items. This dress print totally scream western but I did not want to wear it with cowboy boots so I decided to pair with knee high boots instead. However you decide to rock this trend, make sure you get piece(s) you can see yourself wearing even after the thrill is gone.
