Whoever came up with the phrase ” All that glitters ain’t gold” certainly wasn’t speaking of this dress. Wrap dresses, in my opinion are the most flattering dress style that I have ever seen. They look great of almost everyone and the structure of them makes for a perfect silhouette. I remember purchasing my first one from the wrap dress icon, Diane Von Furstenberg, years ago. Till this day it is one of my favorite pieces of all times. The glittery number is the second look of my holiday outfit

It’s begining to look a lot like Christmas……. Finally !! For the entire month of December, I have decided to put together festive outfits that you can wear this holiday season. From the office, to a holiday party, I hope that you find some fashion inspriation from my holiday post. This sweater and top combo is very verstialle. Black sweaters are a must have for your winter wardrobe. You can literally wear them with almost anything. The furry details on this sweater is a nice added touch and makes the

Lace & Leather

I love to take super girly pieces and mix them with something a bit more edgy. I am not a girly girl at all but I do love super feminine pieces. I have been trying my best to stay away from wearing so much black this year. I am proud to say I have worn colors I never thought I would wear and I am totally enjoying it. Okay, this outfit is mostly black but I never said I was totally eliminating the color (*giggles). As I mentioned in a

I think it is safe to say, cardigans have been around for a very long time. I remember watching a show when I was a child called ‘Mr. Rogers Neighborhood”. Mr Rogers had so many cardigans with an array of colors. As a child, I thought they were super boring. Even though cardigans are not one of my Top 10 favorite pieces. This one will be in my wardrobe rotation for quite a while. What attracted me most about this cardigan was the color and the fact that it

I have to admit, I was not a fan of the pajama trend when it was first introduced a while back. I could not understand how dressing up in your pjs and going outside, other than checking your mailbox was okay. After seeing the way many of my favorite fashionista’s and celebrities styled them, I swayed my vote and hopped on the pajama trend bandwagon. I love the slip dresses and tops. I also adore the two piece matching pajama sets when styled well. When I saw this robe I

The election results are in. Hate it or Love it, we now have a new president. Now more than ever we ALL have to come together an be united. I love collaborating and working with others. Not only does it allow you get results quicker or complete things faster, it also allows you to see things from a different viewpoint. This collaboration with Howistyledit was so fun. I don’t know if it is our African roots or our similar taste in fashion but working with Howistyledit was like working with

Sneaker and flats are making a serious comeback this season. I honestly don’t think they ever went away but they have come a long way from the traditional ballet flats. I love a “dressy flat” like the ones pictured. The style of them are very masculine however when paired with a dress or skirt the look becomes much more feminine. Patent leather is such a formal material and is great when you are wanting to dress up any look. I thought this patent leather bag was the perfect addition to

There is no cookie cutter way to become a successful blogger. In fact, success is measured differently by everyone. Blogging can be very competitive and bias if you let it. Every now and then, if you are fortunate, you find a blogger or two that you totally click with.  I have been very fortunate to find that in a few bloggers since I began blogging a few years ago. In this journey I have also learned the importance of networking and collaborating. No one blogger is the same, we all

Laced in Lace

Lace, how I love thee, let me count the ways….I love your texture, intricate detail and how you make every thing you touch look so elegant. This top caught my eye the moment I saw it in the store. I love how it layers and the mixture of black and white. Because it is such a statement piece, I paired it with a simple pair of flair leg pants . I have been patiently waiting for the Fall season just to pull out my favorite hat. Every women needs a classic

Go Green

It is officially Fall and the weather is finally getting cooler here in Houston. The moment I felt a little bit of a breeze, I immediately pulled out my boots and (faux) leather. I absolutely love Fall weather. I am so attracted to the warm hues like greens, burgundy and brown. I am a sucker for leather and pencil skirts so when I saw this faux leather skirt I had to grab it. Suede is making a cool comeback this season and I wont complain one bit about that.
