SheIn -Your Online Fashion Women Kimonos

From watching the very entertaining Oscars (anyone see the very awkward mix up) to catching the Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, it is safe to say that I had an awesome weekend. Unfortunately, I am paying for it today. It is nothing Advil and a pair of sunglasses can’t fix. Shades are the perfect accessory, you can put them on to give and outfit the extra pop that you are looking for. These are defiantly one of my favorite pair. The bold lens and cat eye structure makes them look very retro, which I love.

In a previous post, I talked about the amazing items I got on sale at Zara. This lovely jumpsuit was one of them. Can you believe it was only $12.99, the original price was $100 so this definitely was a win for me. I love wearing all black. Black is so chic and sophisticated. I am trying to add more color to my wardrobe but it is am ongoing battle with myself that I am losing. When it comes to shopping, for the most part, I am a very careful spender. I usually don’t spend a lot on clothing or shoes unless they are investment pieces. I think every girl should own a good pair of pumps and so that you wont have to replace them all the time, quality is key.

I purchased these So Kates as a birthday present to myself about a year ago are by far one of the best purchases I have made to date. They can go with pretty much anything which is the reason I decided to get them in black. Now, I am not saying go out and splurge on a pair of Christian Louboutins, what I am saying is if you know that you will wear something many times, why not get something that will last. With only a few days left in the month I challenge you to go through your closet what your investment pieces are and see if they are built to last.

Have you ever had a day that you put little to no effort into an outfit but somehow it worked? That is actually what happened when I decided to wear this outfit. With the weather in Houston being so up and down, I always layer or wear something really light so that it is easy for me to cool down or occasionally, warm up. Funny story about this outfit, I went to Walmart to pick up some Valentine’s Day candy and I saw this sweater on a $5 clearance rack, nothing against Walmart but it isn’t were I usually shop. That day and 1 hour later, I left the store with ten $5 catch phrase sweatshirts. Shortly afterwards, I made my way to the mall to make a return, the sale Gods were in my favor that day because I scored this yellow pleated skirt among other pieces for only $10 (Come through God!!)

The unfortunate thing about sales or the items usually are not online to purchase. Which brings me to something I think is really cool. Starting next month, I will now sale select items that I love on my blog under the closet tab. Yep, some of the pieces and shoes that I wear will have a very limited quantity available for you to purchase. I am very excited about it and hope that you all are too. So now when I find an item such as this $5 sweatshirt, I will grab a few more and ship them to your door.

The weather in Houston will not cooperate with my winter wardrobe and I am not too pleased about it. I will say, it had not detoured me from wearing jackets and sweaters, even if it is 80 degrees outside. (Don’t judge me !) I have had this jacket stored for over a year so I decided, if I don’t wear it now, I probably never will.  Love them or hate them, mules are making a comeback this season. I have to admit, I hated them growing up. What did I know back then?  Even though I loved fashion at the time, I was a total tomboy so the thought of wearing anything remotely girly was a complete no for me. Boy, how times have changed. I got these silver mules at a steal of a deal and they are super comfy.

Every girl should have a classic white t shirt and a pair of black jeans. They are so versatile when it comes to putting together an outfit. I opted to wear them both with this jacket because lets face it, the jacket speaks for itself. It was really sunny outside so I grabbed a pair of my favorite sunnies. I accessorized with a red clutch to add a pop of color to the outfit. I have finally come to terms that Houston will not have a winter this year so I guess my spring countdown begins now.

Every year or so a new holiday comes around that I never heard of as a child, like National Pizza Day, National Sibling Day and Cupcake Day. Don’t get me wrong, I love a reason to celebrate but one of my all time favorite made up holidays has to be Galentine’s Day. So what is Galentine’s Day? Well, I thought you’d never ask. Galentine’s Day is a holiday create by Amy Poehler’s Parks and Recreation character Leslie Knope. It occurs every year on February 13, the day before Valentine’s Day. It’s the day you and your gal pals leave your husbands, boyfriends, kids, pets, whatever you love at home and celebrate over drinks, ice cream, a movie, whatever you choose. It is the perfect why to spread love to those you love that are not necessarily your lover.

I decided to celebrate Galentine’s Day with my favorite blogger boo OutspokenlyChic. She is so fabulous and I always have a great time with her. What’s Galentine’s Day without a cute love mural and the go to color of the holiday , the color red. I opted to wear a simple off the shoulder dress and heels, and OutspokenlyChic, who never disappoints, wore a sexy red jumpsuit and an adorable white blazer with fringes. As Galentine’s Day comes to a close I would like to wish you all a Happy Galentine’s/Valentine’s Day.
