There is no cookie cutter way to become a successful blogger. In fact, success is measured differently by everyone. Blogging can be very competitive and bias if you let it. Every now and then, if you are fortunate, you find a blogger or two that you totally click with.  I have been very fortunate to find that in a few bloggers since I began blogging a few years ago. In this journey I have also learned the importance of networking and collaborating. No one blogger is the same, we all have our different niche and style. When you combine your super powers with someone else, magic is sure to happen.

Outspokenly Chic is an awesome blogger friend that I met a while back. Her style is so cool and fun. I truly enjoyed collaborating with her on this shoot. We decided on a Retro theme not even knowing what the other persons interpretation of it would be. I think it came together very well. I decided on a simple sweater dress, booties and LV clutch bag. Outspokenly Chic looked amazing in her striped suede mini, ankle boots, black top and gold accessories.  Get the details of her look (here).  Details of my look below.

What do you think of our Retro theme shoot?

Lace, how I love thee, let me count the ways….I love your texture, intricate detail and how you make every thing you touch look so elegant. This top caught my eye the moment I saw it in the store. I love how it layers and the mixture of black and white. Because it is such a statement piece, I paired it with a simple pair of flair leg pants . I have been patiently waiting for the Fall season just to pull out my favorite hat. Every women needs a classic pair of black pumps so I pulled mine out for a spin. I grabbed my new fringed bag by Diane Von Furstenberg as I trotted through the busy streets of Houston.

What are your thoughts on lace? Do you love it or hate it?

It is officially Fall and the weather is finally getting cooler here in Houston. The moment I felt a little bit of a breeze, I immediately pulled out my boots and (faux) leather. I absolutely love Fall weather. I am so attracted to the warm hues like greens, burgundy and brown. I am a sucker for leather and pencil skirts so when I saw this faux leather skirt I had to grab it. Suede is making a cool comeback this season and I wont complain one bit about that. I decided to go monochromatic with my outfit this time and added a nude knee high boot so that I wouldn’t look like a tree/ bush (LOL). I received these shades as a birthday gift after stalking them for some time. I am obsessed with them at the moment. Fall weather really puts me in a great mood. Can anyone else relate ?

Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow!

This look makes me think of the Wiz Khalifa song from a few years ago. Fall is officially here and I very happy about that. I have already pulled out my knee high boots and sweaters. When I saw these pants, I fell in love with them mainly because of the color combo, slits at the bottom and the high waist. They are so comfortable and could easily transition from day to night by adding a simple blazer jacket. I paired it with a sleeveless top from Target X Who What Wear. If you have been following me for a while then you already know how much I love the Who What Wear collection. Because the pants stand out on its own, I added nude a pair of pumps. I finished this look off with my favorite red Ruby Woo lipstick from Mac and hardshell Vince Camuto Clutch.

What are you most excited about now that Fall is officially here ?
