Have you ever been invited somewhere, only to realize you were either too dressed up or not dressed enough. The trick is to have a few accessories on hand to avoid ever having those situation occur.

Here are a few simple ways to change up your look…

Dress down any outfit by adding a cute pair of flats or comfortable sneakers. I always carry a pair in my car in the event heels are not required.

For a more casual look add some heels, platforms or wedges. This is a great way to bring a little umph to your outfit without trying so hard.

Add a fur, necklace or scarf to spice up your look. With the right accessory and a pair of sexy heels you can go from a day of running errands to happy hour with the girls real quick .

I am a tomboy at heart but I absolutely love wearing heels, so much so that I pretty much wear them with everything. A friend and I went to the park to eat crawfish this weekend and I noticed a few teens playing basketball. Of course I had to join them and snap a few pictures in the process. One thing I learned, or maybe I already knew is that I really suck at basketball.

149153151I think it is safe to say that this black hat is my absolute favorite accessory. I wear is all the time and trust me you will see it this Spring and Summer, with much less clothing of course. I am not the person who doesn’t believe in wearing something more than once. If I bought it and love it, I will wear it !! What about you? What has been your go to item this Fall?

Ruby Woo

As a women of color, especially with a darker skin tone, lipstick colors can be pretty tricky. However, there is one lipstick that I truly love and that is MACs Ruby Woo. The Red matte lip color brings the extra POP to any outfit. It makes me feel sexy, even when I have on sweats. I am not the only person that feels this way. Ruby Woo first launched in 1999 as part of collection with a new formula called Retro Matte. It was essentially a matte version of MACs other popular lipstick Russian Red.

Since its launch, MACs Ruby Woo has been one of the best- selling shades of red. I think one of the reasons Ruby Woo is so popular is because the color compliments most women, no matter the skin tone. I challenge every women to find your signature red lipstick. I found mine but I am open to trying others. What is your favorite go to red lipstick?
